Statement about the Artist/Artist's Work
Hilary Eddy, originally from England, recently moved from the Midwest
to the Mendocino Coast in California. Hilary's unique and colorful
oil paintings have been exhibited in over 60 solo exhibitions in
museums, universities and galleries across the United States, and
internationally in Germany, England, Tai Wan and Singapore. In her
paintings Hilary explores the magic of the ordinary in her extraordinary
observation of the shapes and colors created by light reflecting
and passing through objects. Her vibrant canvases have won more
than 40 awards in national and regional shows including the Grand
prize in the Artists' Magazine Painting Exhibition which had 10,000
entries, the Art Calendar Centerfold Competition and the Crabbie
Cover Art Award. Her paintings have been featured in numerous publications,
including Arts Indiana, IN, The Artist' Magazine, OH, the Art Paper,
England, The Sycamore Review, IN, Stone Shoes, CA, and most recently
in International Art, Australia. She has been awarded Signature
Membership in the National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society and
in the International Artists' Society.
