Use: Recommended use is for hinging window mat to backing board. We do not recommend it for hinging artwork because: 1. Gummed Linen Tape is thicker than Japanese hinging paper. The linen tape can telegraph through the back of the print to the front. 2. The tape is too strong. If the artwork is dropped (the frame falls off the wall or is damaged in shipping) the hinge should be the weakest link so it would tear before the artwork would tear. 3. Gummed adhesive on linen tape is reversible but can be problematic in the process and could cause some damage to the back and front of the artwork.
