Metropolitan carries a limited line of metal frames specifically designed for exhibitions. They come in an ultra thin, thin, and wide versions. The advantage is that they provide an economical alternative for exhibition frames and can be shipped in 24 hours. All are available in black. The 117 profile and our value line profile are available in additional finishes. Like our wood frames, the first decision you need to make is how your want to present your work. MATTED PRESENTATIONWe have given you examples of an ultra thin, thin, and a wide frame to let you see the difference in the overall presentation. The ultra thin profile is mostly used on smaller pictures and is technically more difficult because of the extremely narrow 1/8″ lip that covers the artwork package. The 117 profile is our most popular and comes in additional finishes. The wide frames are typically used on larger photographs.
TIP: When framing an exhibition, consider standardizing the outside dimensions of your frames and varying the mat borders. Visually, this creates a more cohesive exhibit.
