Wood Frames for PHOTOGRAPHY

PRESENTATION IS CRITICAL TO THE SUCCESS OF ANY SHOW

Whether you work in black and white or color, film or digital, standard or non traditional formats, small or oversize, Metropolitan has designed a line of exhibition frames for your photographs. The first decision you need to make is how your want to present your work. There are three major categories – traditional presentations with mats, traditional presentations with spacers, and a newer presentation that uses floater frames for mounted photographs that do not use glazing. We have provided examples to help you make that the decision. For a less expensive, faster option, see our Metal Frames for Photography.

MATTED PRESENTATION

This is the classic presentation where the mat covers the edges of the artwork. It is recommended when the artwork has a border or edges that should be covered. See framing advice for measuring and final fitting instructions.

TIP: When framing an exhibition, consider standardizing the outside dimensions of your frames and varying the mat borders. Visually, this creates a more cohesive exhibit. Click to see our full framing advice section.
